Rising Festival 2022
Ethereal glamour and pointed poise. Hong Kong-born, Melbourne-based artist Scotty So’s visual and performance work is driven by the subversive potential of camp—an often-contradictory mix of humour and sincerity.

At Golden Square, So will sporadically materialise throughout the night in three drag performances to play with the intersecting cultural layers. Tang dynasty splendour, Japanese kabuki theatre and A Capella opera appear as glorious apparitions each night. And a life-sized video work of So's ghostly drag persona will be displayed every night on a hologram device.
